Stanley Osifo, an aspirant for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket, has openly expressed dissatisfaction with the outcome of the party’s direct primary, which saw President Bola Tinubu emerge as the winner.
According to Naija News, the primary took place on Saturday across 8,809 wards, with Tinubu securing 10,999,162 votes against Osifo’s 16,503.
Speaking on Sunday after the results were declared in Abuja, Osifo admitted he was not pleased with the outcome but vowed to remain committed to the APC’s success in the 2027 general elections.
He emphasized that his participation in the primary was not a personal attack on Tinubu but part of the party’s internal democratic process.
Osifo also welcomed Tinubu’s gesture of extending an olive branch, stating that no candidate can succeed alone and that unity within the party is essential.
Despite recording zero votes in several states including the FCT, Delta, Kogi, Ebonyi, and Jigawa he thanked his supporters nationwide and left his political future open, saying, “God knows tomorrow.”
