Traoré Takes On Burkina Faso Football

Burkina Faso President Ibrahim Traoré has said his government will intervene in the country’s football affairs, despite the possibility of sanctions from FIFA.

Traoré said the government could no longer remain on the sidelines of football matters, insisting that action was needed to address the problems affecting the sport.

He said the government was prepared to take the step even if it meant facing the possibility of suspension from international football.

Traoré also said the government would work to bring new energy into football so that people involved in the sport could feel more at ease and give their best.

The planned intervention could put Burkina Faso at risk of FIFA sanctions because of rules protecting the independence of national football associations.
