Iselu Oba Urges Voters to Choose Leaders Who Listen to the People

The Esusu of Iselu Kingdom in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, Oba Akirinde Akinyemi, has urged traditional rulers and the electorate to consider how accessible and responsive leaders are before voting for them.

Oba Akirinde said people should not vote for any leader who cannot respond to their calls when they are in trouble or need assistance. He made the statement on Sunday while speaking on the importance of communication between leaders and the people. According to him, lack of communication can destroy trust, create misunderstanding and affect the flow of information.

The traditional ruler stressed that a leader’s willingness to communicate and respond to the people is an important sign of responsibility.

He therefore urged the electorate to pay attention to leaders who are accessible and ready to listen to the people they seek to represent.
