A Child Is Not a Burden You Can Abandon

Having a child is not the end of your responsibility; it is where your responsibility begins. You cannot bring a child into this world and leave them to figure life out alone. A child needs food, education, protection, discipline, love and proper guidance. These are not luxuries. They are responsibilities.

Too many children are growing up without the care they deserve because some adults treat children as if they are a problem that can simply be pushed aside. That mindset must change.

Taking care of a child should not be seen as a burden. It should be seen as an investment in the future. The child you neglect today may be the person society needs tomorrow. Even the people who eventually care for their parents, support their families and contribute to their communities were once children who needed someone to care for them.

If you are not ready to take responsibility for a child, think carefully before bringing one into the world. Children did not ask to be born. Adults chose to bring them here. The responsibility must follow that choice.

Say no to child neglect. Every child deserves care, dignity and a fair chance at life.
