Nigeria’s Youths Have Heard Enough ,Let Them Work

Across Nigeria and Africa, young people are constantly receiving advice. They attend workshops, seminars, empowerment programmes and training sessions where they are taught how to succeed, develop skills, build businesses and become responsible members of society.

All of these are important. But there comes a point when advice must move into action. Many Nigerian youths already know what they are supposed to do. They know they need to work hard. They know they need skills. They know they need to be productive and build something for themselves.

What many of them are looking for is not another speech, but an opportunity to put what they have learned into practice. The Nigerian youth is hardworking. Give many of them a genuine opportunity, and they are ready to work. But hard work without opportunity can leave people frustrated, no matter how much advice they have received.

This is where wealthy individuals, organisations and people who speak regularly about youth empowerment need to do more. If you train young people, create platforms where they can use those skills. If you encourage entrepreneurship, help provide opportunities for them to start and grow.

Africa should not only teach its youths how to succeed. It should also create the environment where they can actually succeed. Advice is important. Opportunity is what turns advice into results.

A Better Nigeria Starts With Both Sides

A better Nigeria cannot be built by the government alone. It also cannot happen if citizens refuse to play their own part. Both sides have responsibilities, and the progress of the country depends on how seriously those responsibilities are taken.

2027 will not be a primary in a stadium. It is a general election in the open field of Delta North. The delegates are no longer a few hundred party faithful. The delegates are the market women in Agbor, the farmers in Ukwuani, the fishermen in Ndokwa, the students in Asaba, the youths in Ika.
