Residents of Ishieke, a community in Abakaliki capital of Ebonyi state have called on the federal government to address the rising cost of living, saying the increasing prices of food items, rent, and building materials have made life difficult for many families.
Speaking during an interview, a business woman, Nancy Eze, described Nigeria as a country blessed with abundant resources but said many citizens are struggling because of the current economic situation.
According to Eze, the prices of basic food items have continued to rise, making it difficult for many households to meet their daily needs.
She noted that the cost of roofing materials has increased significantly, while house rents in the Ishieke area have become too expensive for many residents.
