Atiku Unveils 2027 Campaign Council

The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has approved the composition of his Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Kashim Ibrahim-Imam was named Chairman of the council, while former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, will serve as Deputy Chairman. Senator Austin Akobundu was appointed Director-General and Campaign Manager. The campaign council has six Deputy Directors-General overseeing different directorates, with 30 directors assigned to specific responsibilities.

Veteran journalist and publisher, Dele Momodu, will head the Media and Communications Directorate, while former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye will lead the Contact and Mobilisation Directorate. The Policy Team will be chaired by economist and banker Mohammed Hayatudeen, with Professor Mohammed Sagagi and Professor Kingsley Moghalu among those listed to work on policy development.

Former Edo State Governor and pioneer National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, John Oyegun, will chair the Campaign Advisory Board.

According to the statement announcing the appointments, the campaign will focus on issues including the rising cost of living, unemployment, insecurity and declining purchasing power.

The council is expected to coordinate Atiku’s campaign activities across the country as preparations continue for the 2027 presidential election.
