Delta State, Nigeria Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has praised the APC for conducting a transparent and peaceful governorship primary, shortly after emerging as the party's candidate for the 2027 election.
Oborevwori, the sole aspirant, secured 345,375 votes from party members across Delta State's 270 wards.
Speaking after casting his vote in Okpe Local Government Area, he said the exercise was exemplary and worthy of emulation.
"For the first time in Delta State, our primaries were conducted peacefully without violence, crisis, or loss of lives. The people freely chose those they wanted," he said.
Returning Officer Victor Abba declared Oborevwori the winner at the party secretariat in Asaba, commending party members for their unity and maturity.
Former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and other party leaders also praised the peaceful conduct.
The declaration was witnessed by Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme and Speaker Emomotimi Guwor, further solidifying Oborevwori's position ahead of the 2027 general elections. Primary as He Secures 2027 Ticket
