The national leadership of the All Progressives Congress has issued a stern disclaimer rejecting the wave of senatorial direct primary results being circulated across several states, declaring them unauthorized and misleading.
In an official statement released by the Office of the National Chairman on Sunday, the party said its attention had been drawn to “various results being announced across several states regarding the Senatorial Direct Primaries,” stressing that such declarations violate the directives of the National Working Committee (NWC).
The APC leadership warned that no senatorial primary result should be made public until it has undergone formal review, verification, and approval by the party’s designated committee.
“The NWC explicitly mandated that no results should be announced at any senatorial level until they have been formally reviewed, verified, and approved by the Committee,” the statement read.
The development has sparked fresh tension within the ruling party, especially in states where parallel announcements and speculative results have already begun circulating on social media and among party stakeholders.
Political observers say the disclaimer signals growing internal pressure surrounding the conduct of the party’s direct primaries ahead of crucial electoral contests.

The statement, signed by Hon. Albukalreem Bala Kwali, Chief of Staff to the National Chairman, urged party faithful and members of the public to ignore any unofficial figures or declarations currently in circulation.
“Any results being speculated upon or circulated do not represent the official decision of the party,” the APC stated firmly.
The party further reassured members and stakeholders of its commitment to what it described as a “free, fair, and credible electoral process,” promising that authentic outcomes would only be communicated after the conclusion of the entire exercise.
The disclaimer is expected to intensify scrutiny over the management of the APC primaries, as allegations of premature announcements, internal manipulation, and factional interests continue to dominate political discussions in several states.
With tensions rising, analysts believe the APC leadership is attempting to regain control of the narrative and prevent confusion that could trigger disputes, legal battles, or deeper divisions within the party ranks.
As of the time of filing this report, no officially certified senatorial direct primary results had been released by the party’s national secretariat.
