The All Progressives Congress (APC) faced significant delays in its House of Representatives direct primaries across Adamawa State on Saturday, as officials meant to oversee the exercise were absent in several wards.
A correspondent visiting wards in Girei, Yola North, and Yola South around 10:45 am observed party members waiting idly under trees, with no official word on when the process would begin. Some members voiced fears that the primaries might not hold at all.
James Koh, a party member in Girei, alleged that the assigned officials were still in Abuja. The APC Secretary for Girei Ward 1, Alhaji Salihu Dalatu, confirmed that election committee members had yet to arrive, though he expressed hope the exercise would proceed.
State APC Publicity Secretary, Victor Dogo, however, urged patience, stating that officials had been deployed to all 226 wards across 21 local governments.
