Victor Chukwuemeke, popularly known as “Mr. Due Process,” has recorded a significant milestone in his political career after successfully scaling the screening exercise conducted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Chukwuemeke, who currently serves as councillor representing Ward 7 in Ukwuani Local Government Area, participated in the screening alongside other APC aspirants seeking elective offices across Delta State.
His successful clearance has generated growing political interest within the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, where he is aspiring to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives.
The councillor’s ambition is attracting attention because it reflects a rare political transition from local government legislative service to the National Assembly, a path many political observers describe as a true test of grassroots democracy.
Supporters argue that Chukwuemeke’s rise from ward-level politics demonstrates the increasing relevance of grassroots politicians within the APC structure in Delta North.
Known among supporters and political associates as “Mr. Due Process,” Chukwuemeke built his reputation around advocacy for accountability, transparency and adherence to procedure in local governance.
His nickname reportedly emerged from his insistence on following legislative and administrative rules during his time as councillor, a style that has earned him popularity among young voters and community stakeholders within Ukwuani and the wider Ndokwa area.

Political analysts say his aspiration comes at a time when many constituents are demanding more accessible and community-oriented representation at the federal level.
The Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, located in Delta North Senatorial District, has continued to witness calls for improved infrastructure, youth empowerment, employment opportunities and stronger federal presence in rural communities.
Speaking shortly after the screening exercise, Chukwuemeke expressed confidence in the APC’s internal democratic process and reiterated his commitment to offering purposeful representation if elected.
He said the successful screening marks another important phase in his political journey toward the 2027 elections and pledged to continue consultations with party leaders, stakeholders and residents across the constituency.
He also assured party faithful and supporters that his campaign would focus on inclusive leadership, community development and effective representation aimed at addressing the needs of underserved communities within the federal constituency.
Supporters of the APC aspirant described his successful screening as a positive development for grassroots politics in Delta State, arguing that his emergence could provide stronger representation for youths and local communities that often feel disconnected from national politics.
The development further adds to the growing political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, as political parties across the country begin early preparations and internal consultations in anticipation of what is expected to be another highly competitive electoral cycle in Nigeria.
