Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema has assured citizens that the country will remain peaceful, orderly, and secure as the nation enters the official campaign period ahead of elections.
In a national statement, President Hichilema emphasized the importance of democratic engagement, noting that while robust debate and the free exchange of ideas are essential components of democracy, actions that threaten peace, unity, public order, or national security would not be tolerated.
“The law shall apply firmly, fairly, and without favour to all, regardless of political affiliation or social standing,” the president stated.
He added that any individual or group found violating the law, including members of the ruling party, would face the consequences without exception.
