Nigeria Power Clash Deepens: APC Fires Back as Saraki, PDP Accuse Governor AbdulRazaq in Explosive Political Battle

Political tensions in Nigeria’s Kwara State have intensified after the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) strongly rejected allegations by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Senate President Bukola Saraki that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq was behind moves to politically target rivals over the 2018 Offa robbery case.

The APC described the accusations as baseless, dramatic, and misleading, insisting that the matter is already before the courts and should be decided through evidence rather than media pressure.

Party officials said no one should fear legal proceedings if they have no connection to the case.

The row has reignited one of Kwara’s fiercest political rivalries, with Saraki one of Nigeria’s most influential opposition figures at the center of the dispute. Analysts say the confrontation could reshape alliances ahead of the 2027 general elections.

APC leaders also defended Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration, pointing to infrastructure projects, salary payments, healthcare improvements, and security efforts, while accusing opponents of trying to distract the government.

The latest clash highlights how Nigeria’s state politics are becoming increasingly high-stakes as parties battle for dominance before the next national vote.
