Senator Ned Nwoko Representing Delta North Declares Bid for Return to Senate, Highlights Achievements Senator Ned Nwoko representing Delta North has formally announced his intention to return to the Senate, reaffirming his commitment to advancing the interests of the Anioma people and consolidating on his legislative and developmental strides.
Speaking during his arrival at the Asaba International Airport on Friday, the lawmaker expressed appreciation for the continued trust and loyalty shown to him over the years, describing it as a reflection of his connection with the grassroots.
He emphasized that his decision to seek re-election into the 11th Senate is driven by a desire to deepen ongoing interventions and expand development across Delta North.
“I have consistently taken the Anioma cause to the highest levels of governance, speaking boldly and advocating for the needs of our people,” he stated.
“The people of Anioma know my track record, and I remain committed to addressing their challenges.”
As a Senator, Nwoko has been associated with several notable efforts aimed at improving infrastructure, education, and social welfare in Delta North.
These include sustained advocacy for stable electricity through the Okpai Independent Power Project step-down initiative, which is expected to significantly improve power supply across Anioma communities.
In the area of water resources, the senator has pushed for the completion of the Ogwashi-Uku Dam and the expansion of pipe-borne water systems to reduce dependence on boreholes and ensure sustainable access to clean water.
His legislative interventions have also supported road infrastructure development, including proposals for a coastal road network linking Asaba to Oko, Aboh, and extending to Patani, aimed at boosting economic activities and regional connectivity.
Education and youth empowerment have remained central to his agenda. Nwoko has facilitated scholarship opportunities for hundreds of students from Delta North, easing the financial burden on families while promoting access to quality education.

He is championing the upgrade of the Federal College of Education (Technical) Asaba to a full-fledged university, the bill for which public hearing has been conducted.
He revealed that he has given scholarship to over 500 students of Delta North who are presently schooling in the Sports University in Idumuje Ugboko in Aniocha North of the state.
On the national stage, the senator reiterated his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing confidence in the administration’s direction and prospects for re-election.
He also appeared alongside former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, signaling continued political alignment within key blocs.
A major highlight of his address was his firm backing for the proposed creation of Anioma State.
Referencing recent remarks by President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio in Asaba, Nwoko stated that the realization of Anioma State, with Asaba as its capital, remains a priority, describing it as a long-standing aspiration of the people.
He urged his supporters to remain resolute and focused, noting that the forthcoming election presents an opportunity to build on existing progress made within the past three years in the senate.
While acknowledging the openness of the democratic process, he maintained confidence in his record and connection with constituents.
The declaration is expected to intensify political engagement across Delta North, as constituents evaluate performance, promises, and competing visions ahead of the next senatorial election.
