Member representing Rankshin, Kanke and Kanam Federal Constituency of Plateau State, Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, has said that if members of the National Assembly fail to sum up courage to fight against insecurity and bring it to a standstill in the country, Nigerians will rise up against them.
While making contributions during plenary in the House of Representatives, Gagdi said: "No matter how Nigerians respect us, we are moving to a level where Nigerians will fight us the way they fight criminals and the way they fight boko haram. It's almost getting there.
"They will continue to fight us until the right thing is done by us here in the National Assembly. Until we speak for the Nigeria people, they will not spare us."
He revealed that it has come to a stage where it has become unacceptable for members of the National Assembly to keep quiet and speak with two sides of their lips as if Nigeria is safe, adding that "we must stand up and find a way of bringing this issue of insecurity to order, otherwise you and I are not safe."
He called for a concerted effort from members of the legislature to draw the line and fight for the Nigerian people, otherwise what will happen in the time to come will be difficult to contain.

He said: "Until we draw the line, until we tell government what we want to tell government and until government responds by decisive action, not by media statement or press statement, we will not be safe.
"Do not think Mr. Speaker, that any member of the National Assembly is safe to move, not because of bandits not because of Boko Haram, but because of the people that elected you and I. They will not give us peace. They will come for us.
"Time will come if action is not taken, that Nigerian people will take their destiny into their own hands and fight all of us."
The statement of the federal lawmaker is a show of the reality on ground. Nigerians are getting fed up with promises which have never translated into concrete actions by leaders of this nation.
Nigerians need actions not promises that have never yielded any results. Nigerian authorities are known for giving promises to people but making the promises come to reality has been a challenge to them.
