Hon. Alex Mascot, representing Aba North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has said that Nigeria is at war with itself.
In a trending video, Mascot referred to Nigeria as a fallen country. "Nigeria my country, the giant of Africa, how the mighty has fallen, " he was reportedly heard saying in the video.
He told the House during a plenary that he had listened to members of both red and green chambers making different submissions but none has acknowledged that Nigeria was at war.
The federal lawmaker said whether Nigerians like it or not, the country is under siege. For him, issues surrounding the country all point to the fact that the country is under siege.
Hear him: "But I can tell you definitively, unequivocally and emphatically that this country is under siege. A country with the land mass of 923m.7km land mass, has no effective security.

" The most effective way to invade this country is to infiltrate our forests, demoralize us economically, demoralize us psychologically, invade and infiltrate our military and make us look powerless."
Hon. Mascot revealed that repentant terrorists have been conscripted into the Nigerian Army, a development he described as war strategy against the Nigerian state.
The observation of the federal lawmaker is not far from the views of many Nigerians. Many Nigerians are pissed off seeing integration of repentant Boko Haram terrorists being integrated into the Nigeria army.
Nigerians are also worried that a lot is being spent for the military authorities but nothing seems to be coming out of it. Insecurity is daily staring at us in the face, children, men, women and youths are being kidnapped but it's like all the efforts of the Nigeria government for the security of the nation is not yielding results.
It is believed that there are forces behind the security crisis in Nigeria. It is also believed that persons in certain government circles are aware of individuals behind the crisis but seem to fold their hands because of seeming advantage.
