The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said that he has tried his best to advise government authorities over disturbing security issues in Nigeria.
In a trending video, Pastor Adeboye said ''you can only advise the commander in chief, you can't command the commander in chief. That would not make sense. But I've tried and God is my witness."
On issues of security in Nigeria, Adeboye said: "If I were asked to make suggestions, I will say quietly to our government, move fast and tell our security chiefs to get rid of these terrorists within 90 days or resign."
The Redeemed Christian Church General Overseer believes that the security of Nigerians lives and property should be the primary priority of government as that is the essence of governance.
He recalled in the days of late President Muhammadu Buhari when he issued order to the security chiefs and gave them three months to get rid of Boko Haram terrorists or resign.
"Some of you will remember late President Muhammadu Buhari, who called the then service chiefs together and said, “I give you three months to get rid of all these boko haram people or resign”. He is not around to tell you who gave him that advice.

He said that order failed because Late President Buhari did not follow it through as commander in chief of the federal Republic of Nigeria.
He added that Buhari would have confirmed if he was still alive. Though Adeboye declined to give the details of his meeting with the late President, he said he would give such advice to the present administration.
"Incase there’s any of you who can get across to them, you should tell them that when giving orders to the service chiefs, they should make it clear that they are not only to eliminate the terrorists, they should eliminate their supervisors, no matter how influential they may be."
The situation portrayed in this contest is a reflection of the security situation in Nigeria, and what government can do to put the nation's security apparatus on their toes. Many believe the security authorities are not doing enough in the execution of their responsibilities to the Nigerian people.
But the issue may be bigger than what many Nigerians are being made to believe. There are likely powers behind the security challenge in the nation. These individuals could be benefiting heavily from the system and rather than finding ways to end it they are rather interested in fanning the crisis so as to continue making their earnings.
