Peter Obi Says Tinubu Lacks What It Takes to Lead Nigeria

The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, saying Nigeria needs a president who can respond quickly to security challenges.

According to information reaching Next Africa Daily, Obi made the remarks during a campaign in Kaduna on Monday.

He argued that the country was not functioning as it should under Tinubu’s leadership and called for a government that would respond directly to the needs of Nigerians.

Obi said Nigeria needed a president who could travel to areas affected by insecurity and take action when problems arose.

He said, “We will not be a type of government that they would map 600 and go to the bush, we will go to that bush with them.”

The former Anambra State governor insisted that Nigeria needed leadership that would take security seriously and respond to the concerns of citizens.

Obi’s comments come as political parties prepare for the 2027 general election.
