Gas Cylinder Incident Sparks Fear at Abakaliki Filling Station

A gas cylinder incident at a filling station close to Believers Hostel in Ishieke, Abakaliki, nearly turned tragic yesterday.

The incident happened when a customer brought a gas cylinder for refilling, but the cylinder appeared to have a problem. The situation raised fears among those present because it could have ended in disaster.

Speaking to Next Africa Daily during a physical interview in Ishieke, Abakaliki, Igwe Kelvin warned Nigerians to take gas safety seriously as December approaches.

He urged gas station workers to check cylinders carefully before refilling them. He also advised customers to ask questions about the condition of their cylinders rather than assume they are safe.

Kelvin further warned parents to keep children away from gas cylinders to reduce the risk of accidents.

As the festive season draws closer, he urged people to be careful when handling gas cylinders to prevent avoidable incidents.
