FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has said he wants Rivers State to give its full support to President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Wike made the statement during a meeting in Port Harcourt with supporters of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and youth leaders aligned with the governor.
According to Wike, strong support for Tinubu’s second-term bid could help Rivers State secure important political appointments, improved infrastructure and a stronger position in Nigeria’s political affairs.

He urged party loyalists, youth groups and community members to put past disagreements aside, forgive previous mistakes and work together to support the president. Wike also said Rivers State could benefit from delivering a high number of votes for Tinubu in the election.
“Politics is about figuring out where the state stands to gain the most power. Tinubu is the only thing I wish to hear in this state,” he said. He added that Rivers State could receive more political positions if it ranked among the three states with the highest number of votes for the president.
His comments place Tinubu’s re-election at the centre of his political message to Rivers State supporters ahead of the 2027 election.
