A woman was accused of using human flesh to cook. But what really happened?
Speaking to Next Africa Daily during an interview, Efe Osagie, a resident of Benin City, shared his concerns about how accusations can affect food sellers and their businesses.
He explained that a woman who visited a small eatery complained that she found hair in her food. She insisted that the hair was inside the food, leaving the workers worried about the complaint.
According to the information shared, the people preparing the food covered their hair and wore aprons. The food items were also bought from a supermarket. The workers were concerned that the complaint could affect the business and make customers lose trust in them.
Osagie also spoke about other accusations against food sellers, including claims that a woman used human flesh to cook and that another person stole meat from a market to prepare food.

Next Africa Daily encourages readers to check the facts before sharing serious allegations. Being careful with information can help prevent false rumours from damaging people's names, livelihoods and businesses.
