Otti Stands by Obi Money Claim

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has said he still stands by his 2020 statement about former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, and the handling of $155 million while Obi was in office.

Otti said this during an interview with Arise Television while explaining the statement he made on June 8, 2020.

He said his comment was meant to show that public officials could be prudent in managing government resources.

Otti explained that, as a bank executive at the time, he advised Obi against keeping the money in naira because of the falling value of the currency. According to him, the money was later converted to dollars.

The governor said the statement was based on what happened years ago and maintained that he has not made further comments on the matter.
