"Don't drink before driving" is one of the most important road safety rules that every driver should obey.
Unfortunately, many drivers in Nigeria still ignore this simple safety rule. Some drivers consume alcohol before getting behind the wheel, believing that they can still control their vehicles. This wrong belief has contributed to many road accidents across the country.
Alcohol affects the brain and reduces a driver's ability to think clearly. It slows down reaction time, affects vision, reduces concentration, and makes it difficult to judge speed and distance correctly.
A driver under the influence of alcohol is more likely to make dangerous mistakes, such as speeding, driving recklessly, or failing to notice traffic signs and pedestrians on the road.
The consequences of drunk driving are often tragic. Many innocent people have lost their lives or suffered serious injuries because someone chose to drink before driving.

Families have been left in pain, children have lost their parents, and many people have become permanently disabled due to accidents caused by drunk drivers.
In addition to the loss of lives and property, drivers caught driving under the influence of alcohol may face fines, arrests, or other legal penalties.
Every driver has a responsibility to protect not only their own life but also the lives of passengers and other road users. If you plan to drink alcohol, do not drive. Instead, ask a sober person to drive you, use public transport, or wait until you are completely fit to drive. There is no shame in choosing safety over risk.
Road safety is everyone's responsibility. Obeying traffic rules, avoiding alcohol before driving, wearing seat belts, and driving responsibly can greatly reduce road accidents in Nigeria.
Always remember that one careless decision can change many lives forever. Therefore, never drink before driving. A responsible driver saves lives and helps make our roads safer for everyone.

Sometimes, when I look at Nigeria today, I remember old songs from African China and Eedris Abdulkareem. Back then, people thought they were just making music. But now, it feels like they were actually talking about the country we are living in today.

One of the major reasons behind the weak economy in Nigeria and many other African countries is the lack of strong industries and limited investment opportunities. In many developed countries, industries play a very important role in creating jobs, producing goods, and strengthening the economy. However, in most parts of Africa, there are still not enough functioning industries to support large-scale economic growth.
