Beyond the Certificate, What Can You Offer?

In Nigeria today, many graduates complain about unemployment. Yes, we know there are no jobs, but if an opportunity comes, what can you offer beyond your certificate?

Having a first-class degree is an achievement, but does it mean you have all the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to society?

I remember a man who came to deliver a speech at a celebration in our school. Despite graduating with a third-class degree, he had built a successful business with a global reach. His story made me realise that success is not just about the grades we obtain, but also about hard work, learning and what we can offer.

This is why I encourage young people to develop useful skills, especially in technology, because the world is moving forward. Whatever you choose to do, learn it well and do it properly.

As graduates, we should ask ourselves one important question: If I am given an opportunity today, what positive impact can I make in society?
