Nigeria’s security debate has intensified after the African Democratic Congress (ADC) strongly condemned the Federal Government’s reported plan to reintegrate nearly 800 former terrorists into communities across the country.
The opposition party warned that the move could endanger already traumatised citizens and weaken the nation’s long-running war against insurgency.
According to the ADC, terrorism should not be treated lightly or framed as a family dispute, insisting that violent crimes against the state must face justice before rehabilitation.
The party accused the administration of lacking a clear strategy to protect communities while balancing reconciliation efforts.

The controversy is expected to spark fierce national and international reactions, as Africa’s most populous nation faces difficult questions over security, justice, and how to end years of extremist violence.
