Kaduna, Nigeria Lawmakers in the Kaduna State House of Assembly who clinched their party’s tickets in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries have pledged to deepen their focus on development, unity, and effective representation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Emmanuel Kantiok, representing Zonkwa Constituency, secured a decisive victory with 549 votes, defeating Jothsm Ayina and Lawrence Bakam.
He described his win as an endorsement of his track record and a renewed mandate to deliver more democratic dividends.
Speaking after Wednesday’s exercise, Kantiok thanked God, party leaders, and his constituents for their continued trust.
“As Chairman of the House Committee on Judiciary for eight years, virtually all bills passed by the Assembly went through my committee. Beyond legislative duties, we have facilitated projects in education, healthcare, and other sectors,” he said.
His interventions include classroom construction and renovation, provision of staff rooms, toilets, fencing, and furniture in schools across Kamantan, Madakiya, Anfana, Ikulu, and other communities.
He also facilitated upgrades to primary healthcare centers across all five wards of his constituency, alongside scholarships and empowerment programs for students and small business owners. On security, he assured constituents of continued collaboration with relevant agencies.
Similarly, Hon. Sam Kambai, representative of Zango Constituency, who polled 414 votes to defeat Elizabeth Barnabas, called his victory "a call to do more."
