Nigeria’s Army Chief Praises Frontline Troops’ Sacrifice, Reaffirms Commitment to Crushing Insecurity During Eid Celebrations

As Muslims across Nigeria mark the Eid al-Fitr, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) has commended Nigerian troops for their resilience, dedication, and unwavering commitment in the fight against insecurity.

In a goodwill message to soldiers, the Army chief praised personnel deployed across various conflict zones for their courage and sacrifices, noting that their efforts remain central to safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and stability. He highlighted the critical role of troops in ongoing operations against terrorism, insurgency, and banditry, emphasizing that their professionalism continues to inspire national confidence.

The COAS stressed that the spirit of Eid — marked by sacrifice, discipline, and compassion — reflects the core values expected of military personnel. He urged soldiers to remain steadfast, disciplined, and united in the discharge of their duties, even in the face of evolving security threats.

He also reassured troops of continued improvements in welfare and operational support, acknowledging that their well-being is essential to maintaining a strong and effective fighting force. According to him, the Nigerian Army remains fully committed to strengthening its capacity to address emerging security challenges through enhanced coordination and strategic operations.

The Army chief further paid tribute to fallen heroes who lost their lives in the line of duty, assuring that their sacrifices would never be forgotten. He encouraged troops to draw strength from the festive season and remain focused on their mission to restore peace and stability across the country.

Nigeria continues to battle multiple security challenges, particularly in the North-East and North-West regions, where troops are actively engaged in counter-terrorism and anti-banditry operations.
