Nigeria’s midfield boost on hold as Ozoh’s clearance delay sparks fresh tension

Nigeria’s plans to strengthen its squad have hit a temporary pause, with promising midfielder Nnamdi Ozoh still awaiting international clearance to feature for the Super Eagles.

The England-based youngster, regarded as one of the exciting emerging talents eligible to play for Nigeria, is currently in the process of completing the required documentation to switch allegiance.

Approval from FIFA remains the final hurdle before he can officially don the green and white jersey.

Sources within the Nigeria Football Federation indicate that efforts are ongoing to fast-track the process, with hopes that Ozoh could be available for selection in upcoming international fixtures.

His potential addition is seen as a strategic move to reinforce Nigeria’s midfield with youth, energy, and technical quality—an area many analysts believe needs urgent depth.

For supporters across Africa and beyond, the delay adds suspense to what could be a major boost for the Super Eagles, as anticipation builds around when Ozoh will finally be cleared to represent the three-time African champions.
