Despite Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s reported backing of Senator Ede Dafinone for the Delta Central senatorial seat, former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege has delivered a firm and focused statement outlining his priorities as he seeks a return to the Senate.
Omo-Agege declared that he would take to the Senate “the undimmed passion of service to our people and our nation,” signaling a determined approach to representation anchored on commitment and continuity.
He stressed that his “earned experience and invaluable contacts built over the years” remain critical assets, positioning him to engage effectively at the highest levels and deliver results that, according to him, are beyond the reach of his opponents.
On regional representation, Omo-Agege was unequivocal about his objective to advance the Urhobo nation, stating that there is a “great need to place the Urhobo nation on the pedestal it deserves” and restore its visibility at the national stage.
He framed this as a necessary step toward ensuring balanced inclusion within Nigeria’s broader political landscape.
Addressing economic priorities, the former deputy senate president pledged decisive action to attract “federal presence as well as local and foreign investment” into his senatorial district.

Omo-Agege also highlighted coordination as a central pillar of his legislative approach, stating that he would champion working with fellow lawmakers and both federal and state governments as a “well-oiled team.”
He maintained that such alignment is essential to reposition Nigeria to fully harness its “limitless potential.”
Reinforcing his position, he pointed in earlier remarks to the importance of experience and established networks in navigating governance, maintaining that effective representation requires both institutional knowledge and the capacity to build functional alliances that translate into tangible outcomes.
With a message defined by clarity and emphasis on delivery, Omo-Agege’s statement lays out a direct agenda centered on service, strategic engagement, and measurable development for his constituents and the nation at large

Sometimes I wonder why every APC governorship candidate, senatorial candidate and others are campaigning only for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and not even for themselves. Or do they think that being APC candidates, they have automatically won their different seats in the national Assembly or govetnorship of their states?
