‎Obi Cubana Breaks Silence on City Boy Movement

‎ Prominent businessman Obi Cubana has thrown his weight behind Bola Tinubu, unveiling a youth-driven platform, the City Boy Movement, to rally grassroots support ahead of the 2027 presidential race.

‎ ‎Cubana made the declaration during a meeting with Peter Mbah, describing the movement as a coalition of young entrepreneurs and professionals determined to shape national development, not a political party, but a strategic support base for Tinubu’s re-election.

‎ ‎“This movement is different,” Cubana said. “It’s powered by young people, businessmen, not career politicians.

‎ ‎Our mission is simple: educate, orient, and reorient our communities so they understand the direction Nigeria is headed and their place in it.”

‎ ‎He framed the initiative as both civic and strategic, arguing that regional progress depends on alignment with the Federal Government.

‎ ‎“Today, we believe in the leadership of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he stated. ‎

‎ “We have come out, as young professionals and successful businessmen, to say clearly: we stand solidly behind the President and his re-election bid.” ‎

‎Cubana warned against what he called “divisive politics,” urging greater political integration for the South-East. ‎

‎“Every Igbo person must be connected to the center. There has to be balance and recognition of every region. ‎

‎There is enormous work to be done, access to gas infrastructure, rail development, real economic integration. We cannot afford isolation.”

‎ ‎He stressed that sustained opposition without engagement could sideline the region from national opportunities.

‎“If we remain perpetually in opposition, we risk being forgotten. We stand on Bola Tinubu’s mandate.

‎The City Boy Movement is about the progress of Igbo land, and educating our people is a responsibility we are ready to carry.” ‎

‎With its blend of youth mobilization and political alignment, the City Boy Movement signals a calculated push to consolidate support for Tinubu while repositioning the South-East within Nigeria’s federal power structure.
