Obi Draws Red Line on Election Rigging

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has vowed that anyone who rigs an election under his administration will be sent to jail.

Obi made the statement during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Thursday. He said the punishment would apply even if only one vote was manipulated.

“If I am the serving president of this country, whoever rigs elections will be in jail. Even for one vote, you will be in jail,” Obi said.

He also criticised restrictions placed on his campaign activities in some states, saying candidates should be allowed to campaign freely.

Obi further promised that opposition parties would not be harassed under his administration and would be involved in decisions affecting the country.
