In a heartfelt show of solidarity, Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has broken his silence following the unexpected defeat of celebrity businessman and socialite Pascal Okechukwu widely known as Cubana Chief Priest in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for a House of Representatives seat.
Cubana Chief Priest, who also serves as the Imo State Coordinator of the City Boys Movement, had set his sights on clinching the APC ticket for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
However, in a stunning turn of events, he managed only 14 votes, losing to the incumbent lawmaker, Canice Nwachukwu, who retained his grip on the constituency.
Reacting to the outcome on Sunday, Seyi Tinubu took to Instagram with a message of encouragement that quickly went viral. “Bro, sometimes by losing a battle, you find a new way to win the war.

Keep your head up @cubana_chiefpriest. We know what you are capable of achieving,” Seyi wrote a post the nightlife mogul later reposted to his own page.
The defeat stung even more for Cubana Chief Priest, who had publicly backed President Tinubu and invested heavily in his political ambition.
In a candid video circulating online, he opened up about his frustration: “I’m a hustler, and I didn’t regret trying to contest. My only regret was trusting the elders in the community. I know how much I gave them, but only 14 people voted for me.”
Social media users have since flooded the conversation with mixed reactions some mocking the socialite’s failed bid despite his political connections, while others praised Seyi Tinubu for his loyalty and kind words in a moment of public disappointment.

Nigeria’s already fragile opposition landscape is being shaken by escalating tensions between two major political forces, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, as fresh signals suggest that talks of a united presidential ticket or broad coalition are rapidly breaking down. What was once marketed as a possible “grand alliance” to challenge the ruling establishment is now looking increasingly like a political mirage.
