The All Progressives Congress (APC) has held its House of Representatives primaries across 360 federal constituencies, with Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, and Yusuf Buhari, son of former President Muhammadu Buhari, emerging as notable winners for the 2027 elections.
However, the party disqualified 14 aspirants from contesting in Ondo, Bauchi, Ebonyi, Kogi, and Rivers states. APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka announced the disqualifications in a statement on Saturday, citing failure to pass the screening exercise conducted in line with party guidelines.
Among those disqualified are four serving House of Representatives members: Iduma Igariwey (Ebonyi), Anderson Allison (Rivers), Awaji-Inombek Abiante (Rivers), and Boma Goodhead (Rivers). Others include Adefisoye Tajudeen, Olusegun Ategbole, Seun Ajongbolo, Arowole Ayodeji, Morufu Ibrahim, Oseni Oyeniyi, Olaleye Adedipe, Bashir Bello, Sanni Ogembe, and retired Air Commodore John Opara.
