Woman Dragged Under Moving Vehicle to Her Death as Drivers Rush to Make Money Ahead of Christmas

As Christmas approaches, drivers have been urged to be careful on the roads and avoid reckless driving that could lead to the loss of innocent lives.

Mary Ojo, from Ikorodu, Lagos State, expressed concern about the way some drivers behave on the road, especially those who drive in a hurry without paying attention to other road users.

She recalled an incident involving a woman who was dragged under a vehicle and lost her life. She also mentioned a man who lost his hand in another road incident.

According to her, these incidents show how dangerous careless driving can be. She explained that some drivers are always in a hurry to make money for the day, but they forget that other people's lives are in their hands.

She also warned drivers against drinking alcohol before driving. She noted that some drivers wrongly believe drinking alcohol will help their eyes become clear so they can see properly while driving.

Mary said the pain caused by road accidents does not end when the victims die. Children who lose their parents and families who lose their loved ones are left with suffering, painful memories and emotional trauma.

She reminded drivers that there is no need to rush because they will still reach their destinations if they take their time.

As the Christmas season approaches, she advised drivers to avoid speeding, drink responsibly and never drive after drinking alcohol.

She stressed that only someone who is alive can reach their destination. Drivers should remember that every life on the road matters.
