The United Arab Emirates has unveiled the UAE Cyber Factory, a sovereign AI-driven cybersecurity initiative aimed at transforming the nation’s digital defense capabilities amid a surge in cyber threats.

According to the UAE Cyber Security Council, the country currently faces more than 800,000 cyber attacks every day — a figure that highlights the growing urgency for stronger, locally controlled cyber protection systems.

Developed in partnership with CPX Holding, a major regional provider of cyber and physical security solutions, the Cyber Factory represents more than a routine infrastructure upgrade.

It signals the UAE’s broader push toward digital sovereignty by building advanced cybersecurity technologies within the country rather than relying heavily on foreign systems.

The initiative is designed around three core priorities: rapid threat detection, automated incident response, and long-term resilience for critical infrastructure.

Industries including energy, banking, aviation, and telecommunications are expected to benefit significantly, particularly where operational disruptions could have severe economic or public safety consequences.

A major distinguishing feature of the Cyber Factory is its emphasis on national ownership.

From AI model training and data processing to deployment and incident management, the entire cybersecurity ecosystem will remain under UAE control.

Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government and Chairman of the UAE Cyber Security Council, described the initiative as a milestone in the country’s digital evolution.

“The launch of the UAE Cyber Factory signals a new phase of leadership, positioning the UAE as a global hub for advanced cyber security and a digital power shaping the future of the industry,” he said.

“In the face of rising global challenges, the UAE stands as a leading model that not only protects but also innovates and leads by developing advanced technologies capable of detecting, preventing and deterring cyber threats effectively.”

The Cyber Factory forms part of a wider national cybersecurity framework that the UAE has steadily expanded over recent years.

Existing systems already include real-time monitoring, coordinated incident response, and cross-sector intelligence sharing between government agencies and strategic industries.

What the new initiative adds is a dedicated innovation engine where local engineering expertise, AI research, and operational intelligence can work together to develop next-generation cyber defense platforms.
