Oden Ewa, the immediate-past Commissioner for Special Duties under Governor Bassey Otu, has secured a dominant win in the APC primary election for the Cross River Central Senatorial District, setting the stage for the 2027 general elections.
Returning Officer Eyo Ekpo announced the final tally at the Ikom LGA Council Hall, revealing that Ewa polled an overwhelming 32,426 votes, far outstripping his closest rivals Barrister Mary Ekpere with 991 votes and Eteng Jones with 726 votes.

In his victory speech, Ewa thanked party leaders, delegates, and Governor Otu for ensuring a level playing field. He described his landslide win as proof of his years of service and dedication to the district and state.
Extending an olive branch to his opponents, he urged unity, saying, “My victory is a collective victory.” He charged supporters not to take the win for granted, calling the upcoming 2027 election “the greatest task ahead” and pledging to uphold the mandate with peace and progress.
