President Tinubu Makes 8 Fresh Appointments

Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a series of key appointments and nominations affecting major federal institutions, including the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and the National Population Commission (NPC).

In a statement issued by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, the President appointed Ibrahim Ida as the new Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission.

Ida, a former senator who represented Katsina Central, brings extensive experience in public service, having previously served as Commissioner of Finance in Katsina State and as a Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service.

He holds a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Ibadan and a law degree from the University of Abuja.

Alongside the CAC appointment, President Tinubu nominated seven individuals as Federal Commissioners for the National Population Commission.

The nominees, who will represent their respective states pending confirmation by the National Assembly, include Kolawole Oladipupo Alabi (Ekiti), Nasiru Mu’azu (Zamfara), Usman Abubakar Tuggar (Bauchi), Dr. Isaka Alada Yahaya (Kwara), Prof. Sadiq Isah Radda (Katsina), Suleiman Umar (Jigawa), and Hon. Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo (Sokoto).

The presidency noted that these nominations are intended to fill existing vacancies and complement previously appointed commissioners within the NPC.

In a related development, the President appointed Dr. Yusuf Mohammed as Chairman of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaltungo, further strengthening leadership across federal educational institutions.

Additionally, Tinubu confirmed Bala Mohammed Bello as Special Adviser on Political Economy. Bello, an indigene of Taraba State, holds degrees in Accounting and Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University.

He previously served as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and as Executive Director of the Nigerian Export-Import Bank between 2017 and 2022.

According to the presidency, the appointments reflect Tinubu’s confidence in the appointees’ capacity to contribute meaningfully to governance and advance his administration’s goal of improving the quality of life for Nigerians.
