Troops of Nigeria’s Joint Task Force under Operation HADIN KAI have recorded fresh victories against Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgents after killing several terrorists and rescuing kidnapped victims trapped inside militant hideouts in Ngoshe, a community in Borno State.
According to military authorities, the rescue mission was carried out along the dangerous Ngoshe–Amuda axis in Gwoza Local Government Area, where troops launched coordinated offensives against terrorist camps hidden within the Mandara Mountains.
During the operation, soldiers rescued abducted women and children who were captured during the deadly March 3, 2026 terrorist invasion of Ngoshe community.
The rescued victims identified as Salamatu Sidiq Ali, Halima Idrisa, Umar Abdullahi and Mustapha Abdullahi were reportedly held inside insurgent enclaves before troops overwhelmed the terrorists with superior firepower.
Military authorities also confirmed that additional kidnapped victims, including an eight-year-old boy abducted during the same attack, were later rescued in separate operations across the troubled corridor.

Security forces further recovered weapons, mortar bombs and explosive devices abandoned by fleeing insurgents, while several suspected terrorist collaborators and logistics suppliers were arrested during raids across Borno and neighboring areas.
Military officials said sustained airstrikes and ground offensives have continued to weaken Boko Haram and ISWAP strongholds across the Northeast.
The latest operation comes amid growing concerns over worsening insecurity in northern Nigeria, where terrorist attacks, kidnappings and mass abductions have continued to displace thousands of civilians despite intensified military offensives.
Reports indicate that dozens of Ngoshe residents abducted earlier this year have already been rescued through ongoing military operations targeting insurgent routes around the Mandara Mountains.
