Visa has introduced six new dispute resolution services driven by artificial intelligence and proprietary technology, aimed at helping financial institutions and merchants reduce fraud-related losses and administrative overhead.
In an official statement, the digital payments giant stated that the new tools will modernize dispute management processes, enhance visibility into fraud expenses, and enable businesses to redirect resources toward growth, innovation, and customer experience.
Visa revealed that it processed 106 million disputes globally in 2025 a 35% increase from 2019. The company noted that disputes remain a major challenge in the payments ecosystem due to rising operational costs for merchants and financial institutions, as well as growing consumer frustration.
Among the solutions introduced for merchants is the Visa Dispute Resolution Network, designed to streamline pre-dispute management and resolve transaction issues before they escalate into formal disputes. The service, which is set for a wider rollout in late 2026, aims to accelerate resolution times and reduce operational burdens.
Visa also launched the Visa Dispute Recovery Manager, which automates dispute representment using generative AI responses and win-prediction scoring to improve recovery outcomes.

Another tool, Order Insight, provides transaction details to help consumers and banks identify legitimate charges and cut down on unnecessary disputes. Visa added that an update in April 2026 will allow merchants to use Compelling Evidence 3.0 within Order Insight to submit evidence on suspicious transactions and reduce cases of friendly fraud.
For issuers and acquirers, Visa unveiled Dispute Intelligence, an AI-powered solution that leverages predictive models and Visa’s global transaction data to support dispute analysis and decision-making. The company also introduced the Dispute Doc Analyser, which uses AI to summarize merchant documents and speed up resolution processes.
Additionally, the Visa Dispute Case Manager serves as a centralized platform integrating dispute workflows across multiple card networks from intake to resolution.
Commenting on the development, Andrew Uaboi, Vice President and Cluster Head for Visa West Africa, said the solutions will help stakeholders address the growing complexity of payment disputes and fraud management.
“Disputes put strain on every part of the payments ecosystem, frustrating consumers while driving cost and complexity for merchants and financial institutions,” Uaboi said. “When outdated technology cannot keep pace, fraud goes undetected. Our expanded suite of dispute services gives clients the visibility they need to focus on what matters most: serving customers, launching new products, and growing their businesses.”
