Your Body Has a Limit

There is time to work and there is time to rest. No matter how busy life becomes, everyone needs time to relax and regain strength.

There is a popular saying, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” This reminds us that life should not be all about working without taking time to rest.

Think about a machine. If you keep using it without proper care, it may eventually break down. You may then have to spend money repairing or replacing it. The human body also needs care, but unlike a machine, you cannot simply replace it when your health is damaged.

Many people work hard every day to provide for their families, pay their bills, and achieve their goals. Some wake up early and return home late, leaving little time to rest. While working hard is important, ignoring the body's need for rest can affect one's health.

Eating good food, drinking enough water, and maintaining healthy habits are important. However, these habits should go hand in hand with adequate rest and sleep. You cannot expect your body to function well if you keep pushing yourself without allowing it time to recover.

Whether you are a student, trader, teacher, business owner, or office worker, remember that your health matters. Make time to rest, especially after a long day of work. If you feel unwell or constantly exhausted, do not ignore it. Seek medical advice when necessary.

In Nigeria, people often say in Pidgin, “Your body no be firewood.” This simple expression carries an important message: the human body cannot continue working without care and rest.

You may have many plans and responsibilities, but you need good health to pursue them. Resting does not mean you are lazy. It means you understand that your body needs care.

Next Africa Daily reminds you that working hard is good, but taking care of your health is equally important.
