“A few years ago, our nation faced division, economic hardship, and uncertainty. Many had lost hope. Yet through resilience, unity, and God’s grace, Zambia is rising again,” he said.
The President pointed to improvements in peace and economic confidence, citing increased investment, job creation, free education policies, and local development initiatives as key achievements of his administration.
However, Hichilema stressed that safeguarding Zambia’s democratic values and peaceful traditions remains essential as the country heads toward the elections.
“Peace is our greatest inheritance,” he said, warning against division, tribalism, corruption, and political intolerance. He urged political leaders and citizens alike to ensure that the election period strengthens democracy rather than creating conflict.
“This election must not divide us. It must strengthen our democracy and unite our people,” the President said, calling for the rejection of violence and “toxic politics.”
Hichilema also appealed for leadership grounded in integrity, compassion, service, and measurable results, while encouraging citizens to work together toward a more inclusive and prosperous future.
He ended his remarks with Zambia’s national motto, “One Zambia, One Nation, One People,” and invoked blessings upon the country and its citizens ahead of the election season.
