The Movement for the Emancipation of Anioma Nation (M.E.A.N) has accused key figures within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State of manipulating the Delta North senatorial primary election process ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement signed by its Coordinator, Ayo Ashiedu, the group described the primary as “a fabricated result” that failed “every basic test of compliance and credibility.”
M.E.A.N alleged that the process was compromised from the outset through the appointment of serving government officials as election supervisors.
According to the group, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, a serving commissioner in the Delta State Government, was deployed as a returning officer during the Delta South exercise, a move the group said undermined neutrality and independence.
“When a serving commissioner runs the process, you don’t get neutrality; you get instructions from the top,” the statement read, adding that the same approach was allegedly replicated across Delta State to enforce a predetermined outcome.
The group further claimed that party executive committee loyalists were embedded within the electoral committees responsible for collating and declaring results.
It argued that these officials were politically aligned and allegedly acted to deliver outcomes favourable to former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his allies.

M.E.A.N also challenged the credibility of the figures announced at the end of the primary, alleging that the declared votes exceeded the number of registered party members in several wards.
“The numbers announced don’t match the reality on ground,” the statement said. “In multiple wards, they recorded votes far above the actual registered membership.”
The group stated that Senator Ned Nwoko possesses video evidence from all 98 wards, which it claims contradicts the officially announced results.
According to the statement, the alleged irregularities included changing procedures during the process, ignoring results from 97 wards, and relying on footage from a single ward to declare a winner.
“This is not a disputed election; it is a written result,” the group maintained. M.E.A.N called on the national leadership of the APC to reject the outcome of the primary and ensure a fresh process that reflects party membership records and electoral transparency.
“The APC national leadership cannot legitimize this fraud. Delta North deserves a primary that respects the register, respects the process, and respects the members,” the statement read.
