The camp of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has launched a scathing attack on the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the conduct of its legislative primaries in Kogi State, describing the exercise as chaotic, poorly managed, and a threat to internal democracy.
Speaking with journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, Samuel Idoko, Media Adviser to Senator Natasha, said the crisis trailing the primaries has exposed the ruling party as disorganised and unfit to continue leading the state.
“The irregularities witnessed during the APC primaries from the House of Representatives to the Senate elections are a huge embarrassment to a party that claims to be ruling Nigeria. What Kogites have seen is confusion, manipulation, and a total lack of internal democracy,” Idoko charged.
He reserved his strongest criticism for the party’s decision to clear former Governor Yahaya Bello to contest for a Senate seat, despite pending corruption cases against him at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
“That clearance is shocking and disappointing. It has damaged whatever credibility the APC had left on accountability. It is a major dent on the party’s integrity and shows clearly that the APC does not care about justice or the fight against corruption,” Idoko stated.

Idoko, who is also vying for a seat in the Kogi State House of Assembly under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), argued that the deepening dissatisfaction within the APC has significantly boosted his party’s prospects in the state.
He noted that the PDP is now gaining strong grassroots support, particularly in Kogi East and Kogi Central, and is poised to compete fiercely for key seats from the Senate down to the State Assembly.
“All these developments play into the hands of the PDP. The people are tired, and they are ready for a change. The PDP is strongly positioned to win elections across Kogi East and Kogi Central,” he added.
Idoko urged party faithful and residents to remain united ahead of the general elections, reaffirming the PDP’s commitment to rescuing the state from what he called “bad governance and political injustice.”
