Nigerian anti-drug operatives have rejected an alleged ₦500 million bribe after intercepting a shipment of suspected “Canadian Loud” cannabis valued at about ₦7.8 billion, in what authorities describe as a major breakthrough against drug trafficking networks.
According to the report, the suspects allegedly attempted to bribe security officials in a desperate bid to secure the release of the seized drugs and avoid arrest.
However, the operatives reportedly turned down the offer and continued with the operation, leading to the confiscation of the massive consignment.
The seizure has drawn national attention because of both the huge street value of the drugs and the size of the alleged bribe involved.

“Canadian Loud,” a strong strain of cannabis often linked to high-end illegal markets, has become increasingly popular in underground drug circles across several countries.
Security experts say the operation highlights the growing challenge of transnational drug trafficking in West Africa, where criminal networks continue to exploit major cities and transport routes for illegal distribution.
The refusal of the alleged bribe has also sparked praise from many Nigerians who see the action as a strong stand against corruption within law enforcement.
Authorities are expected to continue investigations to uncover those connected to the shipment and the wider network behind the operation. Tags: Nigeria, DrugBust, CrimeNews
